War rages on the home front as well as the battlefield. I would know, I am Jacqueline Arnold and I am a casualty of war, as is my family. I was a military spouse married to an Army aviator from Desert Storm through Operation Enduring Freedom. I signed up for twenty-three years of service as a military spouse, not knowing the hardships and sacrifices to be endured. As a mother of five children, through multiple war campaigns and deployments, I know a thing or two about single parenting, stress, change, perseverance and courage. I know about sacrifice, hardship, chaos and uncertainty as well as the effects of war on a soldier and his family. I know the cost of freedom. I know that my family and I became casualties of the war when after years of endurance, we lost the battle to a fractured family and finally to divorce. When I could not find a route to freedom, God helped me find my way. The days of battle are behind me and the days of hope and a brighter future are before me. Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save. -Isaiah 49:25 Won't you join me in the fight for our freedom, to take a personal stand for America? This is our call to action, America. I challenge you to create a wave of compassion and offer a blanket of comfort for the military families left waiting. We can stand behind our military on many fronts. This is not their war. This is our war. This is our freedom they are fighting for. This is our duty, too.
